When there is an acutely sick seafarer on the ship which is on high seas, it is so important to be able to get some good information as to how medical advice can be obtained. As there is usually no doctors on the ship and at best a few may be trained in first aid, it is necessary to get in contact with maritime doctors who are familiar with the maritime medicine, sicknesses that are common on the ships. As many seafarers are actually being treated by us and are our patients before, with their medical records with us, it could be safe-saving to provide them with emergency medical advice. We are one of those who are glad to give all the necessary help to save a life - one who are desperately ill on high seas away from all professional help. As we are familiar with the shipping operations and ports of the world, and with the knowledge of what medicine in the Ship Medical Chest, we can easily and effectively advise what need to be done first. It is just a call away wherever the ship is and our Doctor on call would give such advice or at least help the captain to take necessary evacuation of the sick seafarer if it is necessary to save him or her.
