HYGIENE INSPECTION
This is necessary when there is a suspicion of an outbreak due to food or water contamination and to prevent further spread of the illnesses, it is necessary to examine the area and the suspected items and to send samples to the laboratory for analysis. This usually involves food and water analysis and samples of the
contaminated areas for culture of organisms. Our doctors or officers in charge would conduct the inspection and to obtain the samples on the ships. On completion he would provide the necessary documentation and recommendation. On clearance we would issue a certificate of clearance of the suspected condition.
Control of Infectious Diseases and Prophylaxis Control
When there is a case of potentially infectious, the case would be taken off the ship to avoid the spread of the condition. At the same time, the condition in question was
analyzed rapidly as to how the condition could have been contacted and the existing environment on the ship is assessed. If the patient subsequently confirmed to the the infectious or contagious condition, the relevant authorities would be informed and notified. Additional information and advice will be obtained from the CDC and other Contagious Diseases
Centers of the world. The captain of the vessel would be informed and proper corrective and control measures
implemented and protocol established according to the standard guidelines of international control of infectious diseases. The crew members of the vessel will be screened for the condition and prophylaxis measures put in place. If other patients were discovered they will be taken off the ship. Carriers of the condition will be managed according to condition and if possible be treated if possible. Additional medical advice will be given to prevent
recurrence of the condition.
Medical Crisis
Medical Crisis have to be managed efficiently to control damage to different
parties involved. We understand the whole "web of operations" in shipping and
the whole chain is interconnected in a dynamic function. Before the crisis
reach a disaster level it is prudent to implement all necessary immediate
steps in advance to control the present problem, to prevent all aggravating
factors from acting and to set in motion all controls and checks far ahead of
the required time. This will cut down all delays in operations.
Deaths on the vessel
This has to be handle in the most understanding and sensitive manner. It is not that the unfortunate event could be the beginning of a disaster, it is by itself involved several parties and immediate actions are necessary to handle this issue to avoid running foul of the law of the territory, the international waters convention concerning such matter, the necessary procedures to land and to repatriate the body and the necessary procedures to perform to avoid allegations involving failure to perform necessary procedures and duty.
